Caring for a parent or spouse is a labor of love, and it's exhausting. Respite care gives you a real break, knowing your loved one is in good hands. It can be a few hours every week, an overnight, a weekend, or the days you're away for a trip or a family simcha.
While you're away, our caregiver keeps your loved one's day going the way you would: meals from a kosher kitchen, familiar routines, Shabbat and holidays, conversation in English, Russian, Hebrew or Spanish, and company on walks and errands. Respite care is non-medical companion and homemaker care.

Questions families ask
Can respite care be short-term or occasional?
Yes. We offer short-term and long-term care, so respite can be a one-time weekend, regular weekly hours or anything in between.
Will the caregiver follow our family's routines?
Yes. Tell us about your loved one's day, meals, kashrut and Shabbat practices during the consultation, and the caregiver will follow them.
Do your caregivers help with bathing, dressing or medications?
No. Simcha Home Care provides non-medical companion and homemaker services only. Our caregivers don't provide hands-on personal care such as bathing, dressing, help with eating or toileting, lifting or transfers, or giving medications. If your loved one needs that kind of help, we're glad to work alongside a licensed home health provider.
